Italic Text Generator

Slant your text without a formatting toolbar. The Italic Text Generator converts letters into italic Unicode characters you can paste into bios, comments and posts.

20 / 150 charactersStyled output

Bios are short, so every character counts. Wide and bubble styles take the same count but more visual space.

Compatibility: Unicode styles are not official formatting. Display and acceptance vary by app, device and field, so check the preview and test before you post. Screen readers may read styled text letter by letter.

How to use the Italic Text Generator

  1. Enter the words you want to slant.
  2. Choose sans italic, serif italic or bold italic.
  3. Copy the result and paste it into your app.

What it is good for

  • Quotes and asides in a post
  • Book, film or article titles
  • A softer emphasis than bold
Good to knowItalic Unicode letters are separate characters, not slanted versions of your font. The italic “h” is borrowed from another Unicode block in the serif set, so spacing can look slightly uneven.

Frequently asked questions

Which italic style should I use?

Sans italic matches most modern apps. Serif italic looks more traditional but is less consistent between devices.

Can I italicise numbers?

Unicode does not include italic digits for these sets, so numbers stay as normal digits.
